Hello! My name is Renae and I am an experienced and enthusiastic tutor. My true passions are learning and education. I have worked with elementary, high school and college students in English (grammar, reading, writing), history, logic and communication theory. I have particular experience building research and study skills. My previous tutor experience is through Academic Advantage and the Peer Tutor Center at Fitchburg State University.
It is my belief that everyone learns and studies in a different way. A tutor must take particular care to how the student learns in order to be successful. My experience has helped me build an understanding on how to address student concerns and learning styles. I tailor my tutoring plans to not only help students get better grades, but also increase their comprehension of the subject matter. Getting a good grade means nothing if you don't understand the information that you are being tested on. I adore working with students on an one-on-one basis.
I am a graduate of Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, where I obtained my B.S. in Communications Media in 2010. I am currently pursuing my M.A. in Humanities at Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles, California.
