I have a Bachelor's Degree in Economics-Accounting and French from Claremont Mckenna College, a Masters in International Business Management from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris, and an Advanced TESOL Certificate from the American TESOL Institute. After living and working in France for 6 years, Taiwan for 1.5 years and Beijing for 6 months, I speak French fluently and Mandarin Chinese at a high level. I was a Fulbright Scholar in Taiwan in 2003-04 and a Watson Fellow in China, Taiwan, France and Italy in 1997-98.
I have taught ESL to students of all ages for about 5 years and French and Chinese for about 2 years. Since I have also been a language learner, I can understand my students' challenges and help them work to overcome them. I enjoy getting to know my students and catering my lessons and methods to their individual needs. I recently started a language services company called Living Educational Encounters which offers language teaching, writing services, and immersion programs.
Because of my business and accounting background, I am also qualified to teach math, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Powerpoint.
I look forward to meeting you!
