Experienced English/Chinese/ESL, and Speech Tutor!

Hey Everyone!

I'm an experienced English and Mandarin Chinese tutor and recent graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, currently living in Los Angeles. I have over five years of experience in language tutoring, having tutored children between the ages of 5-13 in one-on-one sessions and at language camps. I've recently begun tutoring my first adult student, and am available to take on new students.

As I am a native speaker of both English and Mandarin Chinese and am very familiar with both cultures, I understand the hardships language and ESL students go through and would be happy to work with you to devise a plan to help you focus on certain areas of language learning if you would like.

In addition, having double-majored in political science and communication,I would be happy to draw up a lesson plan to tutor any social sciences or communication-related subjects (speech, essay-writing, reading, etc). I have studied government & politics extensively and participated in many speech-making competitions; I would love to help you master either subject!

ESL/ESOL

ESL (English as a Second Language) or ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) refer to the studies of the English language by non-native English speakers.
Having lived for more than ten years in the United States and Taiwan, I have experience working with ESL students from both countries, and am familiar with foreign cultures and different ways of teaching students' whose first languages are not English.

Tennis

Having taken lessons since the age of 12, and played competitively throughout high school,I am familiar with coaching tennis.
