I am a graduate of Brown University with a concentration in philosophy and logic, a former researcher in a space sciences lab, an award-winning creative fiction writer, and a private tutor who is dedicated to effective communication. I have tutored dozens of students over the past four years through community outreach programs, mentorship companies, and in private arrangements; I have experience working with middle school students, high school students, and college students--as well as with adult learners studying for the TOEFL. In 2012 I taught English literature and SAT prep classes at schools in Hong Kong.
My specialties are essay consulting and proofreading; test prep for the SAT, TOEFL, and ACT; and English: writing, grammar, vocabulary, literature, etc. I am additionally qualified to teach a wide array of other subjects drawing on my knowledge of mathematics, history, and physics.
Finally, I have also helped many students coordinate their college applications and provide general academic guidance through study skills tutoring.
The three core elements emphasized in my teaching philosophy are:
1. Promoting Awareness and Clarity of Goals
2. Encouraging Achievement as well as Personal and Professional Development
3. Instilling Good Study Habits and Time Management Skills
