Hello friends!
My name is Joseph. For the last couple of years, I have been finishing my MA at CSUN and configuring a copywriting business on the side. I am finished with my program and would like to focus on tutoring. I am an experienced tutor who has successfully facilitated student progress for several years now. Currently, I work with students of all ages from LAUSD to provide tutoring based on requirements associated with the No Child Left Behind Act. I am happy to meet students whenever the need arises. I can drive to destinations within 30 miles of where I live if needed.
I have a large amount of experience with copywriting, copy editing, and proofreading for various companies, namely Textbroker, Dell, and Woc Media. My primary interest is in helping students of all ages improve their communication and writing skills. Learning effective ways of communication is essential for success in this world, and through a variety of educational techniques, I aim to address any problematic issues among students and offer practical methods in order reach their desired goals. Students tell me that I have helped them tremendously with their grammar, dictation, and organizational skills. The subjects that I am qualified to teach include writing, proofreading, literature, and English.
I have a BA in English/Classics from UCLA and an MA in literature from CSUN. My culminating graduate project investigates a variety of sparring discourses present in eighteenth century England. I intend to bring useful knowledge that I possess to the foreground in order to facilitate student learning. Tutoring is a passion of mine, and I also hope to teach at a university someday.
