I am currently a college counselor that works with a non-profit who serves foster youth in LA county. I received a Bachelor's and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from UC Irvine, and a Master's in School Counseling from USC. I have previously taught 3rd and 4th grade in North Las Vegas and have experience counseling students from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
I pride myself in being able to develop rapport and build relationships with my students, and believe that is why I have been able to have success in tutoring, teaching, and counseling. As a teacher, I held high expectations of my students and set the bar at 80% to pass math tests, and raised reading comprehension scores 1.5 grade levels within one year with my 3rd grade class. As a college counselor in South Gate, I was able to motivate and guide dozens of seniors into acceptance at 4 year universities. I look forward to helping your student reach his/her potential and goals.
