English Professor who can help with reading, writing, literature

I have been teaching English since 1996. I got a late start, as I tried to be a rock star in my early 20s (still play guitar), but when I got serious about school in my mid-20s, I started with night classes at a community college, and never looked back until I had my PhD from Northwestern. I teach at CSUN now, and am looking to pay it forward a little and help out students I can with the knowledge and experience I've gained over the years.

Writing

I am a published author--two books and several articles--and have taught writing courses going all the way back to 1996. I can help with a wide variety of writing and research issues.

Literature

I teach British literature, mainly Renaissance authors like Shakespeare and Milton. I am also very familiar with the Romantics (Blake is a favorite) and the Greek classics (I teach a course on the Hero now and then). I am generally familiar with the whole history of Brit lit, however, and can help with a wide variety of authors/periods/genres.
