I am presently a private tutor for students in the subjects of Chemistry and Physics, as well as a Guitar teacher and an expert in computers and other hi-tech electronic devices.

I understand that students have different strengths, weaknesses, needs and interests, and I can adapt and cater to each student's circumstances. I enjoy working with a variety of people, and I have worked with students as young as 12 and as old as 72.

I try very hard to be helpful and understanding, and I make myself as accessible as possible. Given enough notice, I can be available at almost any time of the day, evening, or weekend.

I have been tutoring Chemistry students for the last 3 years.

I can work with you on understanding concepts, preparing for a quiz or test, or just getting your homework done.

Topics I can cover include: atomic theory, periodic trends, electron orbitals, ionic/covalent bonding, reactions and stoichiometry, acids and bases, ideal gas laws, temperature and states of matter, etc.

Guitar

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. I can tutor beginning to intermediate students in fingerpicking, flatpicking, chord fingering, music theory, ear training, maintenance, performing, technique, and use of technology.

Networking (Computer)

I have experience networking many computing devices: PC's, Macs, routers (wired/wireless), switches, hubs, print servers, SAN/NAS, media servers, TV's, blu-ray players, etc. If it can be connected, I can help you do it.

Adobe Photoshop

I can manipulate images in Photoshop or show you how to do it yourself. Let me know what kind of project or need you have.

I have had training in Photoshop, and I have been using it since 2000 (version 6.x).

Video Production

I have a film school education and a broad base of experience in most aspects of film and video production and post-production.

I can help with planning projects, putting together crew and schedules and completing the editing process.

DOS

I have used PC's running DOS since version 2.x all the way through version 7.x. I have expertise in editing text files, partitioning and formatting disks, maintaining network connectivity, managing files and directories, and writing complicated batch files.

Linux

I was a unix system administrator for over 10 years. I have worked on workstations and servers running AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, IRIX, Xenix, various Linuxes, etc.

I can administer the operating system, manage services, install peripherals, write shell scripts, or whatever else you need. Let me know how I can help.

Microsoft Outlook

I know the ins and outs of Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage and other email software.

I can help you add email accounts, fix problems, setup autoprocessing rules.

I have used Microsoft Windows operating systems since Windows 3.1. I know their quirks and shortcomings.

I can repair or build systems, I can install or troubleshoot software problems. I can help you find software (or freeware) for any of your computing needs.

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
