Adobe InDesign
InDesign is a great tool for designing and organizing publications (from books to presentation boards). This is a tool that is used heavily in the design industry. Its sister program, Adobe Illustrator, is another great tool to work with in conjunction with Adobe InDesign to accomplish graphic assignments.
Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is a great tool to use for anything from intense photo manipulation to image clean-up and file management. I have been practicing with Photoshop for 9 years both professionally and academically.
Architecture
I graduated with a 5-year NAAB accredited professional degree in architecture from Woodbury University. I have finished my National Council of Architectural Registration Boards' Intern Development Program and I have passed the Architect Registration Exams: Building Design and Construction Systems, Building Systems, Site Planning and Design, and Programming Planning and Practice, and Schematic Design. I have also earned my LEED Green Associate certificate.
Art History
As an intern architect I am required to have a thorough knowledge of the history of art and science. I have studied art extensively; both classical and contemporary art.
Art Theory
I am actively engaged in art theory through contemporary art, architecture, and science. Art is always changing, evolving, and taking on new forms. The pursuit of artistic theory is to pursue the process of investigating the art of things through nature and than to represent these things through a medium that is communicated and experienced.
AutoCAD
I have been using AutoCAD for 9 years both academically and professionally. I am fully proficient at 2D drafting and 3D modeling in AutoCAD. Rhino nurb modeling is a great alternative to AutoCAD 3D. I am available to teach modeling in both AutoCAD 3D or Rhino 3D!
Chess
I enjoy the game of chess. I have played in for many years and appreciate playing it with people around me. If there ever comes a time where someone wants to learn the basics they are more than welcome to talk to me.
Drawing
As a designer and intern architect I am actively engaged in drawing. This includes sketching, drafting, painting, color, composition, light, shadow, form and concept.
Film
As an artist and designer I am engaged in film, production, composition, story telling, light, shadow, framing, and imagery. I true appreciate the art of film making. My favorite writer, director, producers are: Paul Thomas Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, the Coen brothers, and Darren Aronofsky.
Macintosh
I am fully proficient on Apple's operating systems. I have been using Apples for 7 years professionally and know how to update, modify, and install various computer software and applications.
Microsoft Windows
I am fully proficient at using Microsoft's Windows operating system. I have used it for many years to install, modify, and update computer programs.
Painting
As an architectural intern and designer I am required to know composition and practice the use of color, proportion, technique, tools, mediums, light, shadow, and materials.
Photography
I am certified in Photography through Southern California Regional Occupancy Center and interested in the use of photographic to communicate ideas.
Public Speaking
As an intern architect I am required to communicate effectively and frequently present in front of people. Speaking clearly, succinctly, and demonstrate knowledge of subject matter is important. It is like describing something you know about to your best friend.
Study Skills
I have a bachelor's degree in architecture. I am required to study a variety of structured equations and measure results and outcome. Learning how to learn is a process and successfully preparing for it takes time and patience. Lets understand things together so that we can figure out how best to learn.
