Hello! My background in performing arts, education, and corporate training make me a well-rounded tutor for students of all ages. I enjoy instilling confidence in others, while giving constructive input. I feel that when students believe in themselves and their abilities, they enjoy learning and are able to succeed. Allow me to help you succeed in these areas:
Performing Arts:
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, and I have several years of voice and piano training. I have studied improvisation with the Groundlings and Second City. I have been performing as a singer and actor and writing songs since childhood. I have coached other performers in singing, and I have led theater classes for children.
When it comes to singing, I believe that recording your voice and hearing your performance is a great way to bring out the best in your performance, and I can help you do that. I can also teach you to sight read, and harmonize, skills that every singer should have in order to succeed.
If you want to learn how to write songs, or write better songs, I can help you find your message and construct something unique to you. If it's acting that you need help with, I can work with you on a monologue, scene, or we can improvise together.
Computers and Software:
Every performer has a "day job" (or several). One of my day jobs was tutoring in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and general computer use. In another one, I trained colleagues to use very robust software, and I created step-by-step tutorials and user guides. Whether you need every step spelled out for you, or you just need to brush up on stuff you already know, I'm here to help!
Spelling:
If you or your child needs help with spelling, no problem. I'm the person people go to when they need to verify spelling!
