I have taught students biology for over 9 years at the university level and 2 years at the high school. I teach students how to think about biology so that they are empowered to understand and not simply memorize material. I believe that the best way to learn something is to associate new concepts with concepts that students already know. In order to accomplish this, I will use examples students are familiar with and make analogies to biology concepts. I have been recognized by both universities and professional societies for excellence in teaching at both the K-12 and university levels. I have been successful teaching biology to both biology majors and non-biology majors. I demonstrate a quest for excellence in exceptional communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
