Recently, I graduated with my Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Southern California. I graduated in 2010 from the University of Texas at Austin with degrees from the McCombs School of Business (Marketing) and from the College of Liberal Arts (Spanish - Language Teaching). In 2010, I completed a 70-day bike ride with Texas 4000 from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska and raised over $6,000 to go towards cancer research. This has taught me the importance of dedication and how nothing is impossible with determination and courage.
My teaching experience includes being a peer mentor for chemistry, in which I learned how various students learn through different methods. While at USC, I tutored student athletes in math, English, and Spanish. Previously, I worked in the UT Freshman Admissions Office with prospective students. Two summers ago, I interned in Cordoba, Argentina in a home for children with disabilities. I was the co-founder of the UT Chapter of Nourish International, in which we raise money through ventures to go towards summer international development projects which our students actually implement. My experiences abroad have helped increase my cultural understanding and knowledge of the Spanish language. I also volunteered as a tax preparer through Foundation Communities.
God, family, and friends have been a constant source of strength, motivation, and support – which I hope to pay forward throughout my life.
