Hello future students-
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Michael, and I received my Master’s degree from California State University at Northridge in Education. During the past eight years I have been teaching Math at Palisades Charter High School, a distinguished California School. I have worked as an Assistant coach on the Junior Varsity Football Team, and I tutor students in Math and in preparation for the SAT’s and ACT's.
I have had the opportunity to work with students of many different ages. It has been a wonderful learning experience providing me with new challenges and exposure to a wide array of activities. These experiences have reaffirmed my passion to help others. My teaching style goes into developing a deeper understanding of how to analyze problems and realizing what techniques can be applied to reach the correct answer. I constantly try different approaches to facilitate a better understanding of the material. I come from a family of teachers and related educational professionals. I see the value of being educated in Mathematics and stress how advantageous Math skills can be in the real world. A major emphasis of my teaching is in better understanding of word problems. During my time as a teacher I have developed lesson plans that incorporate real life situations, sports, and music within many math topics.
I am making my services available as a professional tutor in Math and preparation for most standardized exams, including the SAT and ACT. I am intuitive, perceptive, and adaptable to many different environments and people. I enjoy teaching teenagers and serving as a role model. I would be happy to meet with you or talk by phone.
