I am from Floripa, an island in Southern Brazil and I have been teaching in Los Angeles since 2004, first as part time in 3 schools, then full time tutoring. I absolutely love teaching because it feels good to have an useful purpose.
My classes are casual with intense participation of students. I believe we all should learn while having a good time. I work with a variety of books and magazines and also a lot of conversation. I cover grammar, pronunciation and cultural differences.
My background is in Journalism, therefore I like to show the difference between proper and colloquial Portuguese. I also explain about different accents and pronunciation since I have worked in radio production.
I have had students that intended to learn for a quick trip and they continued taking classes and were fluent after one year.
Considered one of the best teachers in my school, I was invited to teach Portuguese in a cruise ship to Portugal.
