I graduated from UCLA magna cum laude with college honors. I possess a Bachelor’s degree in economics as well as a specialization in business and a minor in accounting. As a full-time academic and professional educator I am uniquely qualified to help you or your student achieve success in your endeavors as well as develop effective learning and organizational habits that will continue to benefit you well into the long-term. I have seven years of experience as an educator including tutoring students at the graduate, undergraduate, high school, and middle school levels as well as working as a drum and percussion instructor.
After completing university with honors, I worked full time for the largest of the ‘Big Four’ global public accounting firms while simultaneously studying for and successfully passing all four sections of the CPA exam with an average score of 94%. I ultimately decided to leave my career with Deloitte and Touche, LLP behind and began my teaching career, which is my greatest passion in life. My rigorous professional work experience and the balance I had to achieve between working upwards of 55 hours per week and studying, have allowed me to further hone the organizational skills that I picked up as a student. In addition to tutoring students in specific subjects, I am often consulted to help students with organization, planning, time management, test prep and test-taking strategies, and effective study habits so that they can succeed in rigorous academic and professional environments. Of course, I am more than happy to work with you solely on content if you prefer. My lessons are always custom-tailored to your specific needs and preferences.
I have been able to help my students with the following: Microeconomics; Macroeconomics; AP Economics and Statistics test prep; Statistics; Business Law; Business Calculus; English (grammar, literature, essay composition, research papers, and graduate level writing); Accounting (beginning, intermediate, advanced financial, audit, intermediate tax); CPA Exam Preparation (all sections); Math (high school and undergraduate level); Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Quickbooks and Turbotax; as well as organization, test preparation, projects, oral and power point presentations, group work, and effectively communicating with teachers.
In addition, I offer discounted pricing based on demonstrated financial need. I am also sometimes able to offer discounts depending on when and where we meet. Please feel free to inquire for more information.
CPA EXAM PREPARATION
I have been able to help students plan and prepare to successfully pass the CPA Exams. Having an overall strategy, sticking to your plan, being organized, managing your time, and employing effective study methods are important aspects of preparing for the exam that are often overlooked. Other critical elements of successfully preparing to pass the exam include breaking up the material into sizable chunks and reviewing it repeatedly along the way as the vast scope of the exam can be overwhelming in its totality. Learning proper test taking strategies and working through an extensive amount of practice problems, simulations, and practice exams are also critical for success. I am also highly familiar with various CPA Review programs out there including Becker, Roger, Wiley, Yaeger, and CPAExcel. Please feel free to contact me for more information and customized help.
