I have been a professional musician for 35 years which have included tours of Brazil and Japan. A few of the artists I have performed are “Renaissance”, Kenny Drew Jr (jazz pianist)
David Sancious,(Sting, Seal, Eric Clapton) Patrick Moraz (YES), Mark Egan (Pat Metheny) and numerous others.
I have over 25 years of teaching experience in New York City and Los Angeles. Many of these years have included special percussion workshops for teens: at risk, behavioral issues, special-ed, and autism.
I teach in a nice easy going manner and have lots of patience. If students ask a question, I tend not to answer so quickly, knowing that the students “struggle” for the answer is where the real growth happens. It's all about the journey and not the destination!
I focus on the “Listening” as much as the “Playing”. Also, I place emphasis on demonstrating dynamics, tempo, and “feel” and of course about “space”.
Where you ”don't play” is just as important as where you do play!
