Tutoring in Photoshop, Graphic Design, and Studio Art

I graduated with a degree in Studio Art from Pomona College this past May. I won the Mary Drew Art Prize as well as a Rembrandt Traveling Fellowship to see the works of Hieronymus Bosch in 2010. I've tutored groups of high school students in Photoshop in college. I've also tutored one on one and found that worked equally well.

It works best if students have a particular project that they are interested in working on, whatever the field, and using that to direct our efforts. It also means that you, the student, can come away with something concrete for your efforts.

Adobe Photoshop

I am a self taught Adobe Photoshop user of 9 years. Most of what I use it for is photo correction, such as adjusting the color balance of an image using curves. I also use a pen and tablet to construct large scale (3'x3') paintings in Photoshop. I currently have a show at the Peju Winery, up in Napa, of paintings made in Photoshop which will be on display until the end of October 2011.

Drawing

I studied life drawing at Julian Ashton, a very traditional art school located in Sydney, Australia for four months. I am comfortable with charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, and pen and ink.

Painting

I studied Painting at Pomona College under Sandeep Mukherjee, a graduate of UCLA Master's program. I have an painting on display at the Peju Winery, CA which will be up until the end of October 2011. I won the Mary Drew Art award while still in college for a portfolio of oil paintings. I am also comfortable working in acrylics.
