I have worked for more than 20 years teaching Adult ESL for the Beverly Hills Adult School Division. I am a young retiree from Los Angeles Unified Schools, where I taught for 34 years. I was a classroom teacher for 9 years, and I have had much experience with gifted/high achievers in grades 4-6. I also taught grades 2-3. I had 13 years experience with Special Ed, and evaluated and wrote IEP's for Physically Handicapped children who were mainstreamed to regular classrooms. In my last 13 years with LAUSD, I used my Masters Degree and Counseling Credential in my work with attendance and truancy problems for LAUSD. My extensive experience teaching Adult ESL includes having taught from 1989 to 2011 for the Beverly Hills School District where I also mentored teachers who were learning ESL skills. I have strong references to support my quality work history and experience.
I am patient and humorous, and I approach my students on their level. All of my evaluations by the school districts I served were outstanding, and I was on a team for LAUSD that evaluated teachers and their classrooms for the Board of Education.
During the 1980's I served on the State Education Commission's team to evaluate Social Studies textbooks for classroom adoption.
