I am currently a student at Long Beach City College and am in the process of transferring to a four-year university by the next fall semester. As a student, I've encountered many different kinds of teachers and differing teaching style. I've seen first hand how a mismatched teacher and student can be detrimental to a student's development. I am a firm believer that when a student has a genuine understanding of a subject, then he/she is much more likely to be interested and therefore able to perform. I can either approach subjects in a theory-oriented manner to give the students a rock-solid foundation in whichever class, or in a much more practical and result-oriented manner if its a subject that a student really doesn't find that interesting. I have extensive experience in working with after school students and I've learned to cultivate a learning experience out of stressful situations. In this regard, I feel confident that I can take any student to whichever level they want to be at the end of our sessions. I specialize in English literature and any level mathematics up to Calculus.
