I have extensive educational experience, having earned two degrees and am working on a third. I have 28 years experience practicing law which includes much researching, reading and writing. I have had a great deal of success in taking standardized tests, such as the SAT, ACT, LSAT, the Texas Bar Exam, and the National Merit exam. I was a National Merit Finalist. All my degrees have been earned with honors and I currently carry a 4.0 GPA in my Master's Degree program.
I have a love for children and youth that gives me a desire to help them succeed. My wife is a life-long teacher whom I greatly admire and have seen patiently help students succeed for years. My tutoring style will be, of course, tailored to both the student and the subject matter. I will do my best to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. Younger students will likely need more "hands on" tutoring, whereas older students will be guided by me to learn the subject matter to make it their own. I want the students not only to get the answer or master the skill, but to know and understand why or how that answer is correct or skill is necessary. I may even devise my own tests or exercises to help insure those goals are accomplished.
I want to be a friend to you and your child, but I will expect to be treated with respect as well. If I perceive that there is a problem between your child and me, for whatever reason, I will seek to discuss the matter with you as the parent or guardian. If that does not resolve the matter, I may decide to cancel any further tutoring with your child upon giving notice to you of my decision.
