I've been giving piano lessons to beginners of all ages for 28 years. I learned to teach through my teacher, Vivian Scott. She was the most sought after piano teacher in the Long Beach/Lakewood area, at the time. I have two requirements that every student must fulfill. The first is the student must know how to read and the second is the student must have access to a piano on a daily basis. (1/2 hour daily practices are advised). Generally, I prefer that the student come to my house once a week for a 1/2 hour lesson but I might consider driving to your house, providing there are no other distractions, (like siblings playing or housekeepers cleaning etc.) I am a patient, understanding and friendly teacher but stern also. I give rewards as incentives that work with children but not with adults ... unfortunately! Remember: Just because someone can play an instrument, doesn't mean they can teach it! On that note ... think of me if you're thinking of beginning piano lessons, you won't regret it!
Thank you,
Karen W.
