Approved subjects are in bold.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am qualified to teach this specific subject since I hold a Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Also, I have over ten years' experience teaching in the classroom. For five years I taught second grade, then I taught fourth grade for another five--totaling ten years of teaching experience.
I am qualified to tutor in this specific subject because I work with special needs students often as a substitute teacher. I am a substitute for both general and special education. My job enables me to have direct experience with special needs students. I have a California Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
