Sandra Hello. My name is Sandra and I enjoy tutoring students from various backgrounds and educational levels. I have two teaching credentials and over ten years of successful experience teaching students. I especially like tutoring students and seeing their grades improve at school.
Tutor sessions beyond a 15-20 minute drive are subject to a higher hourly rate due to gas expenses and travel time.
Sandy worked with our son to prep for his first SAT. He did well, which we attribute to her patience and focus on the areas he needed the most help with.
Sandra is a really great English and writing tutor. I hired her to help my son prepare for middle school after his elementary school teacher totally failed to teach him any writing skills. Sandra did a great job and my son enjoyed working with her. I highly recommend her!
Sandra is awesome! I was 3 weeks behind in my graduate school assigned textbook reading because I didn't have a good understanding on how to best go about reading textbooks at a masters level, that I feel requires a higher level of reading strategy, structural engagement, and comprehension.
In just one session, Sandra taught me reading methodologies that I have since been practicing and have utilized, which as a result, I have gotten caught up with all my class reading and can now celebrate not having to feel like I'm struggling to just stay caught up in my class assigned reading and can now enjoy learning in the moment.
I highly recommend Sandra and if anyone is still searching for a tutor, they can save themselves time and energy by hiring her. From working with Sandra, I believe she is able to tutor in whatever capacity that's needed. Her ability to teach is amazing, as I can attest to because I used what she taught me and I'm now rocking my grad school course work!
Thank you, Sandra!!
She's always on-time and in constant communication with us. Sandra is a one-stop tutoring source as she deals with so many subjects. We have seen great improvement in our son's self-steam and a can-do attitude which was missing. Sandra has been the best find for us. I'm sure my son's future will be better.
Sandy is someone we will call for SAT prep and other less specific areas of Math tutoring. She came within twenty-four of account set-up and displayed a good effort to understand my son's school material. Sandy is caring and could see the need for additional input suggesting my son work more with his teacher to answer his specific questions. I look forward to using Wyzant again and wish Sandy well. This was a good trial experience. Thanks again.
Sandra has done a very good job and only after two lessons we feel she has helped a great deal.
Sandra was very patient and was able to help my daughter better understand how to apply the formulas for her math class in Algebra 2 Trig. Wish there were more teachers who teach in class rooms that could help students follow these concepts.
Sandy is easy to understand, makes the complex simple! She is able to help the student overcome any issues in an easy to understand manner. Best in the "Biz!"
I had the good fortune to have Sandra tutor me for the CBEST exam, a credential required by the state of California to teach in the public school system. Sandra tutored me in algebra, geometry and reading comprehension. She seemed to always come up with a tip or hint that would help me remember the material we were working on and this was a great help for me. She has a kind and patient mannerism and was always encouraging and optimistic. Sandra was flexible with her schedule and always tried to accommodate me when scheduling our tutoring sessions. I would highly recommend Sandra as a tutor! p.s. I passed my test!
Sandra is a consummate professional at what she does. Not only has my son, her student, been impressed with her thoroughness and depth of knowledge; I have been very impressed by her dedication to keeping me well informed as to what she's done, what she's planning, and why.
My last experience with a tutor was as a high school student myself. I must say that I believe that things would have turned out differently had I had Sandra.
Thank you Sandra, I sincerely appreciate your efforts.
I was lucky enough to have Sandy tutor me for a college entrance exam for algebra, a subject I had previously absolutely hated! In the space of 6 weeks, Sandy managed to teach me 2 years worth of high school algebra. I found Sandy to be an excellent teacher who showed patience and encouragement throughout. I just passed my entrance exam with flying colors in algebra! I am so thankful that I had Sandy to help me and have no hesitation in recommending her as a tutor.
Sandra is nice, professional and helpful with what my son specifically needed. In a short span of time she was able to zero in on what he needed most. The one difficult thing was to get a time the two could fit in to both of their busy schedules, other than that Sandra is great!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
