My name is Kathryn, and I am a full-time professional tutor, among WyzAnt's Top 100. While I am well-versed in several academic subjects, calculus
remain my favorite. I believe that all of my students are capable of building an intuition for these subjects that will serve them well in any problem-solving setting. My pride and joy are those moments when my students explain back to me with full understanding the relationship between Rolle's Theorem and the Mean Value Theorem, say, or how a buffer solution works. This is why I do what I do, and I will do this for the rest of my life.
About me: I graduated from high school with a 4.3 GPA, and with four years of marching band under my belt. In the fall of 2007, I matriculated at Harvey Mudd College and in 2011, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science
in Molecular Biology
. During my years at Harvey Mudd, I worked for Upward Bound, tutoring low-income high-potential students. This is where I started--and I haven't stopped.
I have always been passionate about education, and have a heart to serve those less fortunate. I sponsor young students in Tanzania, donate my time to the Boys and Girls Club, and make Kiva loans constantly. I support organizations, too, who are focused on providing a world-class education to everyone, everywhere, for free. Khan Academy, Crash Course, and Radio Lab are among my favorites. I am on a mission to get the world addicted to learning. Join me!
I appreciate the time you've taken to read a little bit about me. If there is any demystifying I can do--about WyzAnt or tutoring in general--please ask me.

Tutoring is the love of my life. I've found that without it, I get grumpy. Why do I like it so much? What about it is so transformative?
I get to share the fascination of the world with my students. Sometimes I forget just how beautiful and mysterious this world is that we live in. When I have my lessons, I get to remember. It’s pretty common that the work we’re doing reminds me of something...
