Dear Student,
I think of myself more as a coach than a teacher. I prefer to work with a student side by side, in a collaborative manner. The reason I like to do this is because absorbing and memorizing isn’t enough. You need to be able to teach yourself and tailor your learning style to the subject at hand. Find your learning style by way of well established learning techniques. And, allow me to support you, with my creativity and passion.
I offer a lifetime of facing and overcoming learning challenges. I wasn’t always a great student, but I worked hard to improve. I went from an average student facing a lot of challenges to graduating the famed Art Center of Design, finishing with a 3.3 GPA. Art Center required you not only to be a master in your particular field, mine being Fine Arts and computer graphics, but also require that you complete all the general college courses. Beyond all of this, I’ve learned all I can about design, theory and art history. I’ve worked in New York City as a computer artist in the garment district, as a graphic artist, and as a faux painter. All of these positions have required considerable ingenuity and discipline. Additionally, I’ve been a substitute teacher (K - 8) for a resource class where I instructed in a wide area of subjects and worked with children with learning challenges.
