My name is Kathryn, and I am a full-time professional tutor. While I am well-versed in several academic subjects, calculus and English remain my favorites. Calculus, because problem-solving finally requires true understanding of the material. And English, because I finally fell in love with literature after avoiding it through all of high school and college. (For a list of literary works that I've recently studied, see below.)
About me: I graduated from high school with a 4.3 GPA, and with four years of marching band under my belt. In the fall of 2007, I matriculated at Harvey Mudd College and in 2011, I graduated with my bachelor of science in molecular biology.
During my years at Harvey Mudd, I worked for Upward Bound, tutoring low-income high-potential students. I enjoyed that work so much that I began to tutor on my own. Four years later, here we are!
I appreciate the time you've taken to read a little bit about me and my approach. If there is any demystifying I can do--about WyzAnt or tutoring in general--ask!
P.S. I have recently read and studied the following literary works. If you need help with a book that is not on this list, let me know. I will buy it and read it within six days of your request.
Pride and Prejudice
Much Ado About Nothing
Romeo and Juliet
A Tale of Two Cities
The Picture of Dorian Gray
The Great Gatsby
Of Mice and Men
Notes from Underground
Things Fall Apart
