In my 22 years of photography and countless hours behind the computer, my understanding and passion has always been relevant to my dedication to art in whatever form it may be. As a student again, I know that hard work and
dedication is part of the learning process. Having the advantage of real life experiences helps me see light in a different way. These values I have successfully passed on to students with disadvantages that want to make photography
a career.

My expertise is photography and design. Whether to conceptualize, layout or manipulate my goals have been the same. Starting with the understanding of what a camera can do and why lighting and composition matter is an essential part of the teaching curriculum. With the new technology of today and taking the darkroom to the computer there are endless possibilities and room for improvement.

I teach photography and all creative suites that are adobe based. These programs have forever changed the way a person takes a photograph. I have learned my skills from the pros but I teach with the ease of providing real life assignments and understanding.

Although my teaching standards are easy, I try to communicate the importance of lighting and composition as the backbone of photography. Whether manipulating an image in Photoshop or designing a logo in Illustrator or maybe learning the layout in InDesign. I have challenged myself in learning something everyday.

To ensure my students have the most of my time I am more than happy to travel to or meet up somewhere to make a comfortable study area. I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy and do offer make up time.

I have worked with students from ages 12 to 75. Teaching has made me realize that age is no factor in having fun. I look forward in
helping you achieve a successful path, whatever that may be.

Adobe Photoshop

I have been using Photoshop for over 15 years . This program has been useful to me in every photograph I shot that needed retouching, color correction and altering a little to match my ideas and design. I know this program inside and out. As a student I am familiar with the teaching aspect of Photoshop. As an art director in my previous job I was using all the creative suite bundle that included illustrator and InDesign, two other program vital for post production.

Macintosh

For the past 15 years my computers have always been working with the Mac platform. I have related my past jobs solely with the help of my macs. Whether manipulating an image in Photoshop, editing videos in Final Cut Pro and iMovie and laying out a magazine design in Indesign my preference has always been a Mac. I am currently working with a 27 inch iMac. This, by far, is the best computer to help with these tasks.

I have also troubleshooted many problems with friends and family members regarding softwares and other issues revolving the proper usage of the Mac platform. In my last position as an art director I had to set up and teach the latest components that come with using a Mac.

All my current assignments and photo shoots are Mac based. I am more than happy to extend any knowledge to those students and people who can benefit from working with this awesome computer platform.

Photography

With more than 22 years behind the camera. Whether inside a studio or some isolated island in the Bahamas, fashion photography has been the emphasis of my career. I have worked along some of the most respected photographers in the early 90's and early 2000's. Along this stretch as an assistant I learned the technicalities and business aspects of this industry.

In the digital world of photography new technologies have emerged. The darkroom has become the computer. Photoshop has taking a leap forward and the workflow has made it easier to see what would have taken days in the film world to seconds in the digital age. These softwares are extensions of what a simple photograph can look like to a graphical pleasing result using programs to manipulate and change the look and feel of a picture.

As a student, I am dedicating my art direction into the field of commercial arts with an emphasis of photography. I have seen a dramatic shift in photography and design, but without the simple knowledge of understanding light and composition photography is simply lost.
