Hello! Here is a little background information on me. After playing soccer for one year at UC Davis, I transferred to Penn State in order to obtain a degree in Kinesiology and to play for their soccer program. It is from my experiences of being on a team that I have learned how to listen, work with, and assist the students that I tutor in achieving their goals. While attending Penn State, I tutored college students and high school students in different math, science, and kinesiology subjects. I understand that much practice is needed before mastering any subject material. I never rush any of my students in learning new material, but am always patient so that the student fully grasps the material that I am helping them with. I have greatly enjoyed seeing my students improve not only their grades, but also their knowledge of the material for future use.
I specialize in tutoring math and science for success in the classroom. Whether we are focusing on algebra 2 material or physics concepts, I hope to continually challenge my students throughout the entire tutoring session. Instead of solving entire problems for my students, I always make my students do as much of a problem as they possibly can. Then, I will work with my students until we have solved the problem together. In this way, my students are constantly challenged throughout the entire session rather than just observing me solve problems. It is through this hands on approach that my students have benefited the most from.
As I expect my students to come prepared to learn, I expect the quality of my tutoring to be high. I ask for feedback and will never bill for a session in which the student or parent is not fully satisfied with my teaching. I am usually flexible with with time. I have a 20-hour cancellation policy, but I offer makeup classes.
To ensure that the students have a comfortable study space, I offer my house in La Mirada as a potential tutoring location. However, I am happy to travel to another location, which may be more convenient for the student. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your goals in the classroom!
