My name is Monica, and I'm a student at UC San Diego. My major is Literature/Writing. I have a passion for tutoring and helping students in the classroom. Teaching is very important to me. When I graduate from college, I aspire to be a teacher or work in non-profit organizations. Currently, I tutor for a non-profit organization two days a week at a high school in El Cajon. I consider this experience to be sincerely rewarding. I am currently being trained to teach ESL, but also have experience tutoring in math - I'm very comfortable with Algebra 1/2, Trigonometry, Precalculus and Geometry. Being an English major, I have also had extensive experience with critiquing papers for classmates. I am very helpful with homework assistance and conducting review sessions. I can offer great study tactics and advice. I am confident that I can really make a difference in helping children gain enthusiasm for studying. My goal is to help kids become confident in the classroom, and succeed.
