As a current math Ph.D student at UC-San Diego, I have experience communicating and teaching mathematics at various levels. I run 4 hours of discussions sections for UCSD calculus and pre-calculus students, as well as field questions in office hours. I am extremely confident in my ability as a mathematics teacher.
Testing is not a precise measure of a student's mastery over the objective material, for any number of things can go wrong during an examination. This is why I force my students to work many HARD problems in front of me; better that they make their mistakes under my supervision, when it does not count, rather than on the actual exam. This strategy has been quite successful for me, personally.
I am willing to tutor both high school and college level mathematics, including standardized examination mathematics (SAT, ACT, and general GRE). Please contact me for any further details.
