Organic Chemistry Tutor with a Passion for Mathematics

Hello! Thanks for visiting my tutor profile. I am currently a third year college student at the University of California, San Diego majoring in Mathematics/Economics. Chemistry is one of my favorite subjects in academia, especially organic chemistry. I have completed the 140 series here at UCSD and ended with an A average over all three courses. I am especially good with carbonyl chemistry, NMR spectroscopy, and alkene/alkyne chemistry.

I graduated from high school with Honors with a 4.4 College GPA. I have taken AP Statistics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP US History, and AP World History receiving an A average in all courses. I have taken the tests for all the courses and have received a 5 in AP Calculus AB, a 3 in AP World History, and a 4 in all the rest.

I have received numerous awards including the California Scholarship Federation Life Membership Award, the AP Scholar with Honor Award, my high school's Principal's Honor Roll Award, and the President's Education Awards Program - Gold Seal Award.

I have tutored elementary and high school students in the past for about two years. I tutored general mathematical concepts to elementary school students and Algebra I, Algebra II, and geometry to high school students. Algebra 1

I took Algebra I in middle school and received an A average in the class.

Algebra 2

I took Algebra II Accelerated in high school and received an A average.

American History

I have taken AP US History in high school. I received a 4 on the AP Exam.

Biology

I have taken AP Biology in high school. I received a 4 on the AP Exam.

Chemistry

I have taken General Chemistry I,II, and III at UC San Diego. I have also taken Chemistry Honors in high school.

Geometry

I took Geometry Accelerated in high school and received an A average.

Prealgebra

I took Prealgebra in middle school and received an A average.

Precalculus

I have taken AP Calculus AB in high school. I received a 5 on the AP Exam. I have also taken Calculus and Analytical Geometry of Science and Engineering at UC San Diego.

Trigonometry

I took Trigonometry in conjunction with Precalculus in high school and received an A average.

Writing

I have taken both AP English Language and AP English Literature in High School.

Statistics

I have taken AP Statistics in high school. I received a 4 on the AP Exam.

SAT Math

My highest score on the SAT I Math section was a 640.
My highest score on the SAT II Math Level 2 was a 670.
My highest score on the SAT I overall was a 1630.

World History

I have taken AP World History in high school. I received a 3 on the AP Exam.

Economics

I have taken AP Macroeconomics in high school. I received a 4 on the AP Exam. I have also taken the Principles of Macroeconomics and the Principles of Microeconomics at UC San Diego.

ACT Math

My highest score on the ACT Math section was a 32.

Differential Equations

I have taken AP Calculus AB, which had a focus on single variable differential equations, in high school. I received an A average in the class. I received a 5 on the AP Exam. I have also taken Calculus and Analytical Geometry of Science and Engineering at UC San Diego which focused more on multivariable differential equations.

Linear Algebra

I took a course on Linear Algebra at UC San Diego. We explored many topics such as basic and free variables, linear transformations, eigenvectors and eigenvalues, and singular value decomposition. I have a good grasp on the subject and found no trouble with the material. In the end, I received an A in the course.

Organic Chemistry

I have taken the CHEM 140 series at UC San Diego. I ended last quarter with an A average in these courses. I am good with NMR spec and carboxylic acid chemistry.
