I have been teaching brass instruments privately to students of all ages for over fifteen years and love it! I have great rapport with my students and, even though I have high expectations for them, they always look forward to their lessons. I believe in providing a well-rounded lesson experience, including music theory, history, rhythm fundamentals, and ear training along with fundamental brass playing skills. I also help and encourage my students to play musically early in their development.

I have extensive training and experience in both classical and jazz styles and believe that improvisation is an important skill for any musician. Having performed in numerous genres and settings including orchestras, concert bands, jazz ensembles, jazz combos, choirs, brass quintets, woodwind quintets, marching bands, drum and bugle corps, and rock groups, I can help students achieve their goals in any playing situation.

My teaching style is tailored to the individual needs and desires of each student and, with many years of experience, I have learned how to bring out the best in each one of them. I have studied with many excellent private teachers on the trumpet and French horn with varied philosophies and teaching styles which has helped me to become a better teacher myself.

I look forward to hearing from you soon so I can help you become the best brass player you can be!
