Experience really matters!
Yes, I have been President of a New York Stock Exchange listed company, professor at UC Irvine, published author and non-profit executive. I know what works and doesn't work in communications and comprehension--and how to teach you the secrets.
My teaching technique is catered to your needs, but has its foundation in proven results. Whether you are simply lacking confidence or looking for some easy-to-implement tips, I will work with you, one-on-one, to rapidly bring your language, communications and public speaking skills and presence to a higher plateau.
It's all about results- not theory - and my "boots on the ground" experience is now available to you!
Children and adults will benefit from this practical, personal, enjoyable approach.
I am recently retired, so I can tailor my schedule to match your needs.
I created the Knowledge and Social Responsibility program at UC Irvine, which brings a diverse group of high school students together to explore global and local social issues, with an emphasis on American History and current events.
I have been active in Orange County politics, both partisan and non-partisan, for over 30 years. I have been selected to government panels and have been a candidate for office.
Additionally, I have worked with children for almost 30 years in becoming more socially responsible and politically active.
My journalism background dates to the 1960's (!) when I was sports and news editor of our high school newspaper and then employed by the Orange County Evening News as a sports and news correspondent.
Now I am retired, looking to give back to our wonderful Orange County community.
As the President of a New York Stock Exchange listed company, I was constantly in a public environment and was known for my public speaking acumen. As the top executive of a local non-profit organization, this skill has been enormously valuable--with proven results! It is a privilege to be able to "give back" to my local community.
Having raised four children, I have both the experience--and the patience!--to make learning both productive and enjoyable. Thanks.
For ten years I served as Regional Director of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, later renamed (to provide greater inclusiveness) the National Conference for Community and Justice. I created and implemented the network of interfaith councils throughout Orange County and created programs such as the House of Worship Tour and the Interfaith Trip to Israel/Jordan. Additionally, I taught "Managing Cultural Diversity" at UCI for three years.
I have worked with dozens of people, including my own four children, so I know how to get results! Thank you.
I have worked with students in improving their vocabulary and English skills for almost 40 years. I am recently retired and am very excited about giving back to our wonderful community.
I know what works, both at an academic and a practical level, and I utilize the student's passions and interests to keep this enjoyable and productive.
I am a published author, frequent periodical contributor and accomplished public speaker.
