Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience teaching elementary math and know the CA standards from the CTC for mathematics as well. I have a California mathematics teaching credential that allows me to teach grades 6-12 mathematics in public school.

Study Skills

I have a BA from UC Irvine, and a single subject mathematics credential for 6-12 education. I have taught high school and middle school for over 9 years. I have been a tutor for 15 years. I have worked to develop AVID programs that utilize Cornell note taking, user planners to guide routines, training parents on how to take an active role, and how to keep the students organized in and outside the classroom as well. I have tutored students from the 2nd-12th grade and college as well. Study skills are the first thing I stress and try to help students plan to organize their paperwork and time to succeed in their courses.

Swimming

I have 3 years of coaching experience at high schools in Orange County. I swam from the ages of 7-18 years old on club teams Irvine Novaquatics with Dave S., Bryan P.. Also, I swam with club team So-cal. I coached and was the swim team captain at Woodbridge High School and Varsity Waterpolo with Ed C., now head coach at Northwood High School.
