My background in tutoring begins almost 9 years ago. With my experience as a student teacher and currently as a substitute teacher I am well versed in multiple subjects and grade levels. Most recently during my Masters in Teaching program at UCI, I was the head editor of my team's thesis paper. My team received the highest score possible due to the content as well as the writing style of the paper.

I have excellent grammatical skills due to many years of studying Latin, ancient Greek, and Italian. Although those are either ancient and/or foreign languages, having learned those, my English writing/speaking skills are on par. I was the proofreader for my team thesis when I was in my Masters of Teaching Program at UCI. Our team got the highest score possible, and had no grammatical/stylistic/syntactical corrections.

I have a Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential valid for general subjects at the elementary level.

Phonics

During my career as a candidate in the multiple subject teaching program at UCI, I received ELA authorization. I took a course in which I learned the best practices to develop students' phonemic awareness.

Study Skills

I have received training in how to instruct students in study skills to enhance their academic potential.

ADD/ADHD

Part of my experience with ADD and ADHD students comes from my work as an Academic Coach at the College Blueprint, where I received training to work with these students specifically on study skills.
