I am a graduate of Chapman University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. My political science GPA was 4.0 upon graduation. I also enhanced my undergraduate studies by participating in a summer program at Georgetown University called the Engalitcheff Institute for Comparative Political and Economic Systems. Upon completion of the program, I was awarded the "Academic Excellence in Political Science" award given to 1 student out of the 143 participants. I will be attending the London School of Economics to further my study of public policy in the Fall of 2013.
My true passion for Political Science is driving me to help those who believe they "hate" the subject or "just don't get it" realize how interesting and exciting the field can be. As the president of Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society at Chapman, I would often speak with students about why political science is important, and how it can be a fun subject with the right professor/instructor. I was effective in creative several "aha" moments in students younger than myself at Chapman, and would love the opportunity to continue creating those moments with new students as a tutor. I find it truly rewarding to not only see students understand course material, but also see them learn how to connect the material to how they may live their everyday lives. Being able to make those connections is what makes students thrive in social science classes. I believe I am able to facilitate the correct mode of thinking in students that will help them excel in any political science/government/social science/humanities course. I look forward to meeting you!
