Education: Adriana received her M.P.H. from UCLA in 2007, and in 2005 she received her B.S. in biological science from the University of California. As an undergraduate she received the “Excellence in Science” award from the “Latinos in Science” organization. As an outstanding undergraduate, she was selected as a peer mentor at UCLA Pathways - a program designed to help struggling students succeed. In 2013, she received her health education specialist credential.

Experience: Adriana has tutored math, science, and Spanish for over 10 years. Currently, she works primarily with high school students taking algebra, algebra 2, precalculus, biology, and Spanish. She has extensive experience working with students challenged by ADHD/ADD, and behavior problems. In addition to her role as a tutor, Adriana has homeschooled two students (high school) and has helped them throughout the college application process, including ACT/SAT prep.

Adriana’s success as a tutor is evidenced by her students’ achievements. She has helped several students bring their grades up from failing (or near failing) to B’s and A’s. Adriana understands that most students are capable of reaching their goals, but sometimes need an extra push in the right direction!

Fun: As a native of Ecuador, Adriana brings with her a global perspective (and fluent Spanish). As the daughter of a math educator, she knows the value of education and mathematics. In her free time (when it exists), Adriana enjoys practicing yoga, dancing, traveling the world, and spending time with friends and family.

With over 10 years of experience, Adriana guarantees a knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated tutoring experience!
