My name's Ruben Q., a junior grade chemical engineer from UCSB.

School can be hard and don't we all know it? Luck had it that I know well and how to teach: algebra, geometry, k-12 math and science, and not to mention chemistry. I hope to show the patience and diligence everyone deserves. If you're interested in soliciting my services don't hesitate to contact me; I can also help you get an idea as to what your student may need to succeed.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Modern math is pretty fuzzy and the old tricks we learned don't always apply. I hope to guide you through the steps for solving equations until they become habits. Given the chance, you'll soon be correcting your teachers.

Algebra 2

Math nowadays is like a pyramid, and it can be built on good habits or shortcuts. Given the chance, we can root out any misunderstandings until you work faster than the tricks false teachers made you memorize. I'll make sure to cover inequalities, complex numbers, matrices, polynomials, trigonometric identities, exponentials, and any other curve ball that may come your way.

Chemistry

From quarks to bosons, everything is made of smaller pieces. Needless to say, the science of chemistry can also be deconstructed and easily comprehended. Given the chance I'll guide you through the process of deconstructing and reconstructing everything around you.

Elementary Math

Math can overwhelm anyone, and given the chance will do so. Most teachers of the times lead their students to depend on calculators, but I'm not most teachers. Much like chessmasters don't need their boards, my students won't need pencils and papers to do math. The concept of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division can all be done mentally, this is what I hope to teach MY students.

Prealgebra

Up and down, left and right, x and y? Prealgebra is the first step into variable equations and one of the hardest subjects to grasp. With a bit of patience and dedication this step to high knowledge can be conquered. Given the opportunity I'll guide you through multiplication, fractions, and graphing until the calculator becomes obsolete.
