My name is Johonna, and I may be the right person to help you succeed!
I recently graduated from Southern Utah University with a B.S. in Biology, a B.I.S. in Agriculture Science and a minor in Chemistry. During my time at SUU I was a mentor/tutor for a program called SANS. Working with this program I gained experience tutoring in a variety of different subjects, learning about what approaches to learning work for different people, and understanding the difficulties that a lot of students face. I also spent multiple semesters being a grader for Chemistry classes where I learned what type of answers teachers are looking for and how to locate the root of students' problems.
I really enjoy using multiple different methods when tutoring. This might include diagrams on a whiteboard, oral questions to ensure understanding and, when applicable, using bodily kinesthetics to help visualize a concept. I have used all these methods previously and have enjoyed seeing which methods work for different students.
My time at college, both as a student and a tutor, has given me a foundation of knowledge in specific areas as well as methods to be a successful student.
