Eric is a great tutor. He has an extreme knowledge of the Spanish language and a proficient command of its grammar and vocabulary. He listens to your needs and tailors the session to meet your goals. Eric arrives prepared and takes control of the lesson while ensuring a positive and productive experience. He's patient and has good sense of humor that helps to build a good rapport with a not always cooperative teenager.

"Patient Tutor, Deceptive Cancellation Policy"

Although I was impressed with my first lesson with Eric, I was unpleasantly surprised by his cancellation policy. Upon concluding our first lesson, Eric introduced his policy, and handed me a hard copy of it, which had room for my signature on the bottom. If I signed the policy, I would have been bound to it, as any signature line would indicate. I did not, however, sign his policy, but when I had to cancel a lesson, I was still charged for the full lesson. Eric refused to talk with me regarding the logical flaw inherent in his policy, and simply told me to "take it up with WyzAnt." I was unpleasantly surprised, and disappointed with this experience.

While I appreciate the feedback, this simply isn't true. I would never hold my student accountable to a policy he/she didn't sign. My written policy had nothing to do with her being charged. A week following our first lesson, Katherine cancelled an hour and a half before the scheduled lesson time, only after I had texted to confirm. If I wouldn't have texted, I surely would have been stood up. Katherine was charged for the lesson because my online profile clearly states that I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. She had 7 days to tell me she wasn't planning on continuing, or that she had any qualm with my policy. She claims to be a tutor as well, and during or first lesson, shared with me her woes of dealing with bad reviews. She offered me nothing but praise on my teaching style and organization. She would not have been charged by Wyzant if she would have had the courtesy to let me know in advance that she wasn't coming; the same courtesy I imagine she expects from her students.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
