My name is Tal B. and I just moved into the Hermosa Beach area. I have a BA in finance from CSUF and am well versed in most math subjects. I was always the student in class who would start study sessions with classmates and help others learn the material because it was an easy way for me to learn the material. I discovered this approach made it easier to explain concepts as it came from a peer treating students as if they just haven’t learned “it” yet and I still use this technique today.
I worked in the tutoring center of the library at the CSUF as a volunteer helping students with math subjects like algebra, and basic calculus as well as economic and finance math such as "time-value" of money and statistics.
I worked as an English (ESL) tutor in Shanghai, China, for 4 months in 2011 while living there for a new experience. I did both in-home and at the center 1-on-1 tutoring as well as group sessions to ages 6 to adults (50+). The subjects ranged from basic sentence structure to Business English for proposal writing and negotiations in a professional setting.
