I have been teaching Spanish for over thirty five years both on the secondary level, the Junior College level and the University. On the secondary level, I taught AP Spanish Language and Literature and I presently grade the A.P. Spanish exams administered through Educational Testing Service (ETS of the Language Department. On the University level, I taught bilingual Spanish students as well as Anglos in the intermediate and advanced levels. I was also Coordinator for Spanish for the University. I am a member of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) and have been named Who's Who Among America's Teachers. I enjoy teaching Spanish and encouraging students to improve their linguistic skills.
Over the years, my method of "immersing" the student in the language has been successful. I speak the target language all the time and at the end of a session, if the student would like to review a particular point of grammar with me, I will speak English -- but only at the end of the session. I believe that the student should be immersed in the language and explain as best as he/she can using the target language. I learned Spanish in Spain by being immersed in the language for a year. After a year, I became fluent and that is my goal for my students. Many of my former students email me to let me know that they are using Spanish in the jobs and they are grateful to me for this skill.
I look forward to tutoring in my area of expertise which is Spanish and I am sure that my students will be very pleased not only improving their grades but also learning a language for life.

Teaching study skills require three major abilities: learning time-management, applying organizational skills to the task at hand and staying on task. Throughout my 35 years of teaching, I have had to teach my students study skills to deal with various disciplines. Through encouragement and success, I have taught my students to deal with each subject in a calm, relaxed and methodical manner. I have lessened the anxiety that is often produced when a student becomes overwhelmed with work and does not know where to begin. I am an organizational person and am able to impart this ability to my students.
