I hold a terminal master's degree in applied and industrial and organizational psychology and am ABD in business psychology from The Chicago School of professional psychology in Los Angeles. For the last four years, I have also taught a graduate course in survey research, with content similar to that of the managerial inquiry course, at The Chicago School and was recently nominated for Adjunct Faculty of The Year.
My unique blend of professional experience and academic study make for interesting and engaging class sessions whether on ground or online and my students repeatedly remark that they learn about much more than surveys over the course of the semester.
My commitment to learning extends to students at all class levels as I spent five years as an after-school piano instructor, and through music, helped elementary school children improve their reading, writing, comprehension, and math skills. My approach to tutoring is to help the student understand his or her best study methods and to make the learning experience practical and organic. Overall, I seek to help students become or remain self-motivated and disciplined regardless of whether they are pursuing a major field of study, pass a semester-long class, or perform well on standardized tests. I am supportive and encouraging while pushing my students to excel.
