I'm Peter. My education background is mostly math or science-related, but I also have a solid grasp of English, research writing, and nerdy recreational topics (Adobe Photoshop, http/CSS, and the like). I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and working part-time, so I have a very flexible schedule. If you're available, odds are I can make it work for you.
When it comes to teaching new or difficult topics, I like to break things into smaller, manageable ideas and show how they fit together. This works especially well in math and science-related courses, but it has never led me astray in humanities courses, either.
I have previously tutored two individuals in math, one for a month and one for a full semester. Both performed exceptionally well in the concepts I tutored them on, and the student I tutored long-term aced a wide-breadth course in pre-calculus, despite being legally blind.
In short, I'd love to help you learn and I am confident that I can make it work for you.
I have a background in the following areas of Physics:
Classical Mechanics (kinematics, momentum, friction, etc.).
Optics (double-slit experiments, lenses, mirrors, etc.).
Electromagnetism (electric fields, magnetism, flux, etc.).
My knowledge of Physics extends up to undergraduate university-level concepts.
I was a swim instructor and lifeguard at the Hawthorne Pool for several years. Lessons followed Red Cross standards and all instructors were subject to review from supervisors.
I taught a wide variety of children how to swim, dive, and perform pool rescue maneuvers, with student ages ranging from 2 to 17. Swim lessons were group sessions, but I made sure to also provide personal attention to the needs of each student.
