Hello, my name is Travis. I have been tutoring for many years, as far back as freshman year in high school. I attended Oak Ridge and graduated in 2011 with Honors, a 3.87 GPA, and several scholarships. I attended Arizona State University fro two years where I was dual majoring in Engineering and Law. I still carry my 3.8+ GPA there, only because as a freshman, they do not allow you to take the number of classes required to mathematically receive over a 4.0. I tutor in libraries or in your home, it is up to you. I live in El Dorado Hills, and can travel for tutoring. My methods are casual, but firm. I am not your teacher, I am a tutor and hope to be your friend. My job is to help you succeed, not reprimand you for failing. I choose to learn from mistakes instead of getting flustered over them. I can and WILL help you! Even if that means calling in some backup! I really do hope to hear form you soon!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am in college and can do calculus. I believe this will not be a problem for me or for any potential students. As for the previous experience, my little brother, now a freshman, came to me for math help since he was in 2nd grade. I now attend Arizona State University where I am currently dual majoring in Engineering and Law. I believe I am qualified to help students in this range.

Study Skills

I have been a tutor for many years. I have several methods to teach any of subject to my students, and have never failed. I adapt to each students' needs and learning types (visual vs. practical for example), and provide an environment free of frustration for students, especially when they feel the subject is getting the better of them. For some visual learners, flash cards work very well, others graphs. For practical learners, I create and provide practice sheets so they can see different variations of concepts. I am experienced in almost all levels of education and tutoring, and always teach study skills as part of my lessons. I attended Arizona State University for two years where I was dual majoring in Engineering and Law.
