Hi, I'm Meline. I have been studying music since I was 5 years old. I started playing the piano (taught myself by ear) since I was 4 and started taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and took voice lessons since age 8. I went to the International School of Music for 8 years where I received an education in piano performance and music theory/solfego and received a Certificate of Merit in Advanced Level Piano and Music Theory. I took composition lessons for about two years as well as participated in numerous competitions, such as the Armenian Allied Arts Association, winning first place in Junior level piano and composition categories. Also, I participated in the Spotlight Awards and the Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition, where I gained honorable mention awards. Furthermore, I attended Pasadena City College, majoring in Music-Vocal Performance, and minoring in Piano Performance. I graduated from there in Spring 2012, where I received an Associates in Arts degree. After, I transferred to Cal State University, Northridge, where I still attend until this day, with the same major. Throughout my years at Pasadena City College, I participated in numerous opera workshop shows (opera scenes and full opera productions) as well participated in piano accompanying recitals and piano honors recital. I participated in the Pasadena City College scholarship competition and won first place in the vocal category and honorable mention in the piano category. I currently have piano students at home and have been teaching them for about a year. I love working with kids, teenagers and adults! Also, I have tutored students in music theory and piano in the past. I love teaching piano because it makes me happy seeing others learn a wonderful art. I look forward to meeting new students and working with them.
