I am a guide through the marshlands and mountaintops of English language and literature ... After class, before class, in my college office, I have sat with students for over thirty years, answering questions about writing, critical thinking, reading, grammar, literature and test preparation. For many sessions, structuring the communication is basic and then being clear about what you want to say. Having published two textbooks for English, been funded for many English projects, taught on a Fulbright exchange in Europe,and read AP high school exams each year, I have had a wide variety of experiences with the English language and with literature. Whatever you can explain as a "need to know," I can reply to with expertise. If you are not sure, I have already asked many students the right questions to clarify their reading,writing and test taking needs. For larger or more complex issues, I believe in overviewing and then establishing a step by step plan with smaller units to achieve a final, total comprehension. I enjoy the exchange of ideas and would especially like to tutor students online.
