I have been a visual effects artist in the film industry for over 15 years. I've had over 20 years Adobe Photoshop experience. I've used Photoshop on the movies and tv shows I've worked on and am very proficient. I have taught adjunct classes at Pepperdine University in both Photoshop and Multimedia.

I am computer savvy on many software programs on the Mac. I am able to help with basic computer skills as well as being proficient with Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word, iMovie, iDVD, QuickTime, iPhoto, iTunes, Preview, Bodypaint3d, GarageBand, Gimp, and other 3rd party software.

I have an extensive overall knowledge of operating system diagnostics and computer navigation on the Mac.

I also started sewing, knitting and crocheting at a very young age. I've successfully taught both children and adults these fun and rewarding skills and have been told I'm a great teacher. I try to make learning a very fun experience. I have a very outgoing personality with a funny sense of humor.

I also have taught cooking classes to children and adults and also teach jewelry making, sculpey (bake-able clay), and art classes.

I have a B.A. degree in Fine Art and Photography and have been blessed to be able to be a professional artist most of my adult life. I am now at a stage in life where I enjoy teaching others the skills I've learned.

I have traveled extensively in Europe and have a vast knowledge of art history, medieval Christian history, etc. I have many books on art and art history that can be used as teaching tools.

General Computer

I've been employed in visual effects for many years. My experience on computers and various systems spans over 25 years. I first started in computer graphics on a turn-key 100,000 system created by NASA. I have worked on UNIX/LINUX systems as well as PC and Macintosh operating systems. I have a vast knowledge of many software programs as well.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I have spent more than 25 years in computer graphics. Before going into visual effects, much of my career consisted of creating Slide presentations for aerospace companies and top executives of large corporations. I've had years of experience in creating visually appealing presentations that include, charts of all kinds, photos, artwork and bulleted outlines.

Reading

An avid book reader, with graduate work in theology, my reading comprehension level is very high. I've studied extremely difficult subjects and was able to read, understand and communicate the message of the writer to others in detail and with expressive excitement. Adobe Photoshop

Started using Photoshop in 1992. Have worked an average of 16 hours a day since then on feature films and television shows painting environments, props, characters for computer generated 3d environments for visual effects. All created in Photoshop.

Sewing

I learned to sew when I was 5 years old. I've successfully taught both children and adults how to sew. This includes thorough knowledge of fabrics, notions, pattern layout and sometimes pattern creation. This includes using various sewing machines. I also have a thorough knowledge of hand sewing, embroidery and quilting. Was at one time the vice president of the quilt guild of a large city.

Bible Studies

I studied Bible all my life. I took upper level religious classes at Pepperdine University undergrad in which I received a 4.0 in all of the classes. I have completed one year of graduate studies at Fuller Seminary for a Master's Degree in Theology and the Arts. My GPA was 4.0.

Photography

I minored in Photography in college. I have spent many hours in the dark room as well as spending over 25 years manipulating and enhancing photos through Photoshop. I have taken many photographs used in my professional work as a texture painter for the film industry.

Painting

I have been a professional painter in the film industry using Photoshop and other computer programs but also have a B.A. degree in Fine Art from Pepperdine University. I have worked in oil, acrylic and watercolors for traditional painting and have also taken Renaissance painting classes.

Cooking

I have been cooking for many years. I've created enough recipes to fill many cookbooks. I have cooked and know how to cook many different ethnic dishes. I've taught cooking classes to children and adults. I have a vast knowledge of foods, herbs, spices, nutrition, proper measurements and baking as well.

Maya

I have basic knowledge of Maya including navigating menus, shader networks, Maya shaders, Mental Ray shaders, hyper shade, light set up, rendering, file conversion, texture projection, etc.

Art History

I have a B.A. in Fine Art and have take extensive courses in art history. I also lived in Europe and took many art history classes there. I've done extensive traveling to many famous landmarks, museums, archeological sites all over Europe including Paris, Rome, Italy, France, many islands in Greece. I have many photos and books on art and artists that can be used for teaching tools.

DOS

I have been in computer graphics since 1985. Before GUI interface, all the computers were DOS based and only command line entries were able to get computer response. I worked on a $100,000 system that was DOS based only.

Linux

I have spent years working on LINUX systems at various film studios such as Disney, Sony, Rhythm & Hues. I averaged 12-16 hours a day for years working on LINUX boxes.

Macintosh

Have been working on Macintosh computers since the 1980s when they first came out. I set up a computer graphics division and trained the dept. how to set up their Macs and how to use them. I am able to run diagnostics on them as well as add RAM, Internal hard drives, and peripherals. I know a number of software applications as well as full knowledge of the operating system.

UNIX

I have spent years working on LINUX systems at various film studios such as Disney, Sony, Rhythm & Hues. I averaged 12-16 hours a day for years working on LINUX boxes. All LINUX boxes required being proficient in UNIX.

Needlework

I learned to sew, knit, crochet, embroider when I was 5 years old. When I was in 5th grade, I taught the next door neighbor how to sew for her new baby. I've worked at a number of fabric stores helping customers with their patterns and fabric questions. I was the VP of the Madison quilt guild for many years and am very proficient in strip quilting and hand and machine quilting.
