Hello,
My name is Liz, and I recently graduated from USC with an MFA in Writing for Film & TV. At USC, I worked as a Writing tutor and Learning Assistant for USC undergraduates. Prior to graduate school, I spent four years teaching dramatic literature and study skills at Besant Hills High School, a college preparatory school in Southern California. I have also worked as a proofreader for legal and financial firms in New York City and an acting coach for all ages from kindergarten through adult.
My specialty is proofreading and copy-editing academic papers. Narrative prose is my strong suit as I am a writer of original material, but I have also worked with students in business, public policy, history, arts & literature critique, econ, and law. Areas of expertise include grammar, spelling, punctuation, word choice, sentence structure, essay construction, and thesis development. I have also edited papers for ESL students from Austria, China, Iran, Lebanon and Russia and have several tips I can offer ESL students about American academic writing style.
I work with most students via email in Microsoft Word using track changes to show my proofreading edits and suggestions. I am also available for phone consultations to talk through any structural problems with a paper, or to meet in person in Glendale, CA.
