Hello my name is Cassandra, and I have been a high school English teacher in South Los Angeles for five years. I am fully credentialed by the State of California and always continue to pursue professional development opportunities to maximize my teaching effectiveness. I am a 3rd year PhD student working on my dissertation at Claremont Graduate University. I also teach the English CSET subtests 1-4 to aspiring English teachers! I have extensive tutoring experience (7+ years) at the high school and university level, and I am able to tutor in various areas for various ages. I LOVE to teach, tutor, and share knowledge with students, colleagues, and peers. I take my education very seriously and treat it as gift. I am very friendly, outgoing, and very supportive of my students. I am able to adapt curriculum to fit students' needs using various teaching strategies so the concepts stick and are not just memorized! I also have experience teaching EL students and younger students as well (middle school and elementary) and students with IEP's and special needs such as ADD, ADHD, hearing disabilities, and speech impediments. Encouraging and motivating students is something that I consider absolutely essential to their success, so I always focus on their strengths to tackle their challenges. I am responsible, committed, and professional. If you are interested, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you!
I have passed the English, Writing, and Math sections of the CBEST for my teaching credential and I have been teaching for over 2 years.
